Hi I am Jelle van Dijk, 21 years old and this years treasurer of Serve the City Tilburg.
I am originally from Sint-Oetenrode but since three years I live in the beautiful Tilburg.
Since last summer I graduated from the bachelor International Business Administration and in addition to that I play hockey in my spare time.
Before I am going to start my master, I wanted to gain practical experience and give myself some time to find the right master.
Well, this is me, but what does a treasurer at Serve the City Tilburg exactly?
I am responsible for making a correct budget as well as keeping an eye on the expenses of an activity. I will process the expenses in the accountancy and I represent the results every quarter in a report.
Being a treasurer you will gain a lot of practical experience.
You will learn how to work on an accountancy, you will learn to make decisions regarding spending money for STC and you will improve your skills regarding punctuality.
It is very handy and a valuable addition on your resume.
Besides treasurer I am also the coordinator of the committee Serve the Grey. Within this committee we organise nice activities for the elderly in Tilburg. This can be bigger activities, like a casino evening. But we also organise the weekly walks with elderly.
Serve the Grey is a really nice committee with a target group that you can bring a lot of fun by doing small things.
This type of volunteering work is easily accessible but it will give you gratitude. In short, highly recommended for everyone!
